Drake Waterfowl Old School Side-Opening Floating Shotgun Case
Bought the Drake Old School Camo floating gun case at BPS over the Christmas holiday and it fell apart at the seams on my first outing on January 8th and 9th, 2011. I buy good equipment (A LOT of it is Drake) and use it, but do not abuse it and this thing blew a seam on day one of a two day trip to Sardis, Mississippi duckhunting. Our gear was shuttled into and out of the duck blind/pit on an ATV..so it's not like I drug it thru the woods. Love the design..my issue it with the lack of attention to detail / quality. I'll be returning it to BPS for some other brand of floating shotgun case tomorrow that is assembled with attention to detail.

My girlfriend baught me this case for Christmas knowing I needed a 52" case for my gun to fit. I take it and measure it and where the flap closes is 48" and with the flap open its a little over 52" so if you need a 52" case your gun will be hanging out the top.

Must have shotgun protection
I was looking for a reasonably priced floating shotgun case for a 28" barrel gun for waterfowl hunting. This is it. It works great, strong velcro closures and gives you the option to slide the gun in and out like a scabbard or open the long side like a normal case. Sometimes I will open the long side and just lay the gun in it for protection while bouncing around on the water. I love the Old School Camo pattern and the small side pocket and adjustable carry sling.

I am on my third one of these cases in less than a year. I bought the original at the beginning of duck season last year. By the end of the season I had to carry it like a football as all the seams for the handles busted. Customer service sent me another one. That one busted the seems on the carry handle between my garage and my truck parked in the driveway. Customer service sent me another one. My wife reinforced all the handle seems by hand. Now the interior lining is torn up really bad and the nose of the bag has blown out almost completely. Hopefully customer service sends another. Buy a case where the handles are sewn or riveted into webbing around the case. This one is sewn directly to the case itself and the material isn't durable enough hold up. Seriously. This case busted the seems on the carrying handle in less than 100 yards across concrete. Don't make my mistake.
