Down-East Rod Holders
Designed to allow you to grab the rod and pull back quickly in a hook-setting motion. The die-cast rod holder itself actually opens up when the rod is pulled backwards 3" or more. The Down-East rod holders are adjustable to any horizontal or vertical position and made of high-strength, non-rusting alloy castings treated to resist corrosion.

These S10's are are great for row trolling, as well as for boats that dont have rails to mount on.

This thing is what u want if u have an aluminum boat.
The salty is fully adjustable and was down 50+ feet with a dipsy with no problems.
easy to use but......
early one morning while setting it up i overtightened the clamp with my pliers and...snap. the threaded rod broke. totally my bad. had to go to brafasco to find the (7/16) threaded rod ($12) and two nuts to weld onto the threaded rod ($2). Greased em up and works better than new. hefty setup!!

yes but just barely you will have a couple threads left I have inch and 3/4 and it is perfect.Details:Â
is this designed so i can use it on a boats gunwale ? and when clamped is there enough clearance so the holder doesn't come in contact with the gunwale, i had another model and interferance was an issue.Answers
A:Â
if your gunwale is bigger than 2 inches it wont work for you. if you worried about scratching the gunwale put a thin piece of rubber under the holder it is cheaper then a rod holder holder.A:Â
The S-10 is designed to clamp to gunwales. It has two mounting positions depending how the clamps fit on your gunwale. This design allows for adjustment of the holder without interferance with the gunwale.Hope this is helpful.
