I use these types of nets for my annual trips to the Boundary Waters. They work well in canoes, and in close/tight conditions. Be mindful of the types of fish you will be netting. Sometimes the lures, fins, etc. can be difficult to remove from the net.

This a good net for a reasonable price. The good thing about it is, your hooks will not get tangled in the net.
I have had expensive nets that work great but, once you net the fish and they start flopping around the hook would get stuck in the net. I would spend 5 or 10 min trying to free the hook from the net.
With this net the hooks don't get hung up in the netting. Not the biggest or best net but, functions nice for average trout in our PA streams.
