Rated 1 out of 5 by Worthless I purchased this to train my dogs. after realizing it did not work I sent to manufacturer within 2 years of purchase. They wanted to charge me $130 to replace the batteries and some other electronics. I spent alot of money on this, spend yours elsewhere. October 21, 2011
Rated 2 out of 5 by Poor service After receiving my new 2502 T&B two dog system I was going through these units and testing all the feature when I tested the beeper I found it to be excessively loud for the orange collar. I thought no problem these units have volume controls and all in need to do is adjust the volume and I’m in business. Wrong, after looking through the manual I could find no way to tone this down so I emailed Dogtra with my question. Their response was for $65 plus two way shipping and handling they convert a brand new collar or transmitter I am still not quite sure so that it would be low only. Anyone who has hunted over a bird dog for 10 + years knows that all the gun fire is hard on a dogs ears and the last thing we need to do is stress those ears even more. Nothing is worse than to have to stop hunting your most seasoned b-dog because you can’t call cover because it is deaf it if they get lost in heavy cover. As I see it they used the High/ Low selector to switch from 1 collar system to make the 2 collar system and so with the two dog system you really only have high or low preset collars and the high is simply too loud. Just for the record I have been using beepers for at least 12 years and find them to be useless except for locating a dog on point in heavy cover. We never run our dogs with the beepers on, it is almost unbearable to be in a pristine 1500 acre CRP field out west and hear all that racket from 4 beeper collars from dogs you can see. That is why I bought this unit, it has the locate feature that I find indispensable when you have a dog on point in heavy cover. I guess my biggest complaint is that when I tried to talk with Dogtra they just blew me off, I only hope I do not have service problems. That is why at this point I would send it back if I could find a small unit with the locate function. These guys are really close to having a great unit with a few tweaks here and there and a little customer support they would have it. September 21, 2010
