Do not waste your money! This target is a huge waste of money. I shot it at several distances with 5.56, .45 ACP, .40 S&W and 9mm. the target does reseal, but it doesn't swing at all. With the hand gun rounds, it wobbled just a bit and with the 5.56. the only movement was when I obliterated the target stand. I ended up throwing it in the trash at the end of the range day. I was hoping this would be a cheap alternative to getting some steel targets. Guess that's what I get for trying to be cheap! March 3, 2012
Big Gong Good for 7.62x39 and .22. Did not have counter weight, hung down from bar. Although it is too heavy to swing when you hit the target it does seal very well. Next time i go out thinking about adding something to back to try to get a reaction when hit. Note: the smaller ones from same manufacturer do swing very well. Would buy both in future. Whats the point? had the same problem as others. the target does not spin and barely swings. Tried it with .223, .308 and .45 at different ranges all with the same result. the bullets just pass right through without spinning the target. if you cant tell when your hitting the resealing target, then whats the point of having it? Another thing worth mentioning is the "extra-strong, durable frame" was vaporized when hit the first time, but this was expected. May 27, 2011
Works with a Pistol I bought this item in the store vs. on-line using my rewards points. The in-store item sold does not have a counter weight so the gong hangs down from the wire frame. We used this with a 1911 firing a .45 ACP round and a Glock 23 firing a .40 S&W round. Shooting distances were 7 yds, 10 yds, and 20 yds. The gong "swings" when hit, but does not "spin" - most likely because the model sold in the store doesn't have the counter weight. The amount the gong will swing depended on where you hit the gong. A low shot or one in the center created the most swinging motion. We fired around 150 rounds and the gong was still working. We were consciously trying to spread our shots around the gong so as not to wear a hole in one spot. We hope to get 500 rounds on this before needing to replace. We will buy another one (using our reward points) - but will try out the model with the counter weight next time. I would agree with the other review where the shooter was using a rifle round at a longer distance - though we didn't try this. I could see how a high velocity round would pass right through and not swing the gong. Also, I doubt this will move noticably if using a .22 LR round, but we didn't actually try one. Has anyone used this with a pistol? What caliber? What distance? Did it spin? Read the 2 reviews that it didn't spin, but only one of the reviews indicated what was fired and at what range. I'd like to shoot a .45 ACP round from my 1911 or .40 S&W from my Glock at about 10 yards and want to know if it would spin.

No! I shot it at 10-15 yards with 45, 40 and 9mm and it barely wobbled. No spin at all.

My friend was shooing it with .45 and 5.7x28 at just over 10 yards. The .45 would swing it, but the 5.7 caused no reaction. The only time we got it to spin was when we hit the counter weight by accident.
