I mounted the clips, snapped the ladder into them, adjusted the standoffs. That all went well. I can't believe how far this thing sprung down when I stepped on the bottom step. I was able to climb into the boat but with great apprehension. When I removed my weight and the ladder sprung back up, caught foot between top step and underside of the gunnel. I weigh 230 pounds. I don't think this ladder is meant for me even though I couldn't find a weight rating on the minimal documentation that came with it. Ladder worked much better for me when simply hung over the gunnel with a towel for padding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Boat Monkey just needed hinges!
I bought this ladder because I broke my transom ladder and I needed two new hinges. I never found hinges or a replacement custom transom ladder for a 1985 ebbtide. So...I did the next best thing and bought this ladder to use for parts. I cut the hinges off and fixed the boat ladder and bolted a rigid tube in place of the hinges on this new one...
Now I have a repaired transom ladder and a non-folding dock ladder.
This ladder also comes with clips that attach to the deck to hold the ladder. The top part (hook) of the ladder is NOT big enough to fit over the side of a fiberglass boat. (tried that) hook part is about 6"

Off the back of a Tracker Pro Guide, 2 steps extend into the water. I normally do not use the bottom step to get into the boat. I love this ladder. I can easily get into the boat now after tubing in a lake. The best way to use it is to point your knees towards each side of the ladder. If you point your knees straight forward, it makes it harder to get into the boat. Also it is more comfortable to use if you wear water shoes.A:
