Rated 5 out of 5 by WallyB Awesome camera. Don't mind the negative reviews
I thought about this trail camera for a while, especially because of its price.I have a couple of motion activated ones (Spypoint) and another time laps spypoint camera. Because of the negative reviews I was reluctant to spend 250 dollars on a camera that might not work for me. After lots of thinking I decided to give it a try. I put the camera on my deck to see how far it can capture and how good the pictures are. I set the camera to take pictures every 1 second. In and hour it used 423 mega bites (so a little of 4 gigs in 10 hours). You can set the camera to take pictures every 5 seconds (which is more reasonable) or 10 seconds. There is a custom set up, so I am guessing you can set it for other intervals. The camera was able to take pictures as wide as 4 houses next to each other(from 70 yards away). Hence, it should surveillance a plot or a field very well. Once you try to view the pictures, the software plays them in a movie mode, which is really really nice. Quite honestly, it is awesome. You can zoom the movie to a great extent. However, the zoom is digital, so you do loose clarity. Overall, the pictures (movie) quality is really good. The plotwatcher surpasses my spypoint time laps camera in the field of view and the area it covers (the Spy point's pics are higher resolution though). If I would like to buy another time laps camera (which I do and will), I would not buy anything other than the Plotwatcher. It also surpasses my motion activated camera in the sense that it captures animals whether they passed by near enough or not. So many times my camera missed animals because the did not pass close enough, or passed too fast (and I end up with empty pics). There are several setups for the camera. One of which is to set it to capture pics during day light...I tested it on that mode and it took pictures for more than one hour after sun set an the pictures were pretty clear. Also, with my motion activated cameras I did get to see what animals passed by, but in many cases had to guess (and change the location of the camera) where the animals were coming from. The Plotwatcher should solve that as it shows where they are entering and exiting the field from (this is for those who are wondering why time laps cameras). I do recommend this camera big time. I think whoever is going to buy it will never regret the decision. I actually plan to buy at least a couple more. Best of luck to all!

This camera has given me more faith in hunting than ever before. I use to get a few mature buck pictures in the day on my regular camera's. Then I put the plot watcher out. Little did I know shooter bucks were coming out way more than once thought. It's amazing how many times the plot watcher caught them coming out for a 30 second snack and looking for does no where near the camera. I also got great Video of a HUGE tom mating a hen on my camera.
