The consummate foot soldier, the Fort Lewis is uninsulated for warmer climates and those extra long marches. The standard that other uniform boots attempt to live up to, this 10'' uniform boot is made in USA and approved by the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). Loaded with features, the Fort Lewis sports a full-grain leather upper preferred by those in uniform and special tactical teams for its ability to be cleaned quickly and durability. Danner's Stitchdown construction provides top stability and a wide, stable base. The cushioning Vibram® Kletterlift outsole fights fatigue on long treks by providing lightweight comfort, superb shock absorption, and great traction and stability on wet or dry surfaces. A GORE-TEX® lining keeps the boot completely waterproof. This soldier is ready for duty right out of the box. Average weight per pair: 4.625 lbs. Non-insulated. Color: Black. Made in USA.
Danner's Stitchdown construction - stable base, ability to re-sole boot
Full grain leather upper
Vibram Kletterlift outsole - great shock absorption and superior wet or dry traction
Danner®'s Stitchdown Construction creates a wider platform to deliver increased stability and an incredibly durable base underneath your foot. This heavy-duty construction process starts with conforming the upper to one of Danner's durable lasts and then flaring this piece out to cement it to the midsole. These two pieces are then stitched together with a heavy thread in an interlocking stitch for a super secure attachment. This firmly stitched boot is then cemented to a top quality outsole to deliver a boot ready for hard work and abuse. In addition to delivering a superior boot, this process also allows you to re-sole the boot to add years of life to these top quality and top performing boots.

As a former Marine Grunt and 22 year Police Veteran/SWAT I can say that there has not been a finer boot made. I have been wearing these boots since 1996 when I joined SWAT. My boots have been soaked in water, cold and heat....I have bought three pair and looking to buy my fourth. Only down side when I first bought them was the weight, you get use to it and haven't lost a foot chase due to the boots, ankle support is awesome when landing on uneven surfaces...

You can"t put a price on quality. Had mine since 1994, just now getting them reconditioned. These aren't just boots these are a soldiers dream, if you know what i mean, you have to keep your feet dry and rely on a boot to get you there. I own 2 styles of danner boots, Fort Lewis and the Frontier. I will never buy any other boot but Danner. I was in the Marines for 8 years and they have never let me down...to this day. I've had these boots for 17 years! Thanks Danner for making the best boots bar none.

I just purchased these boots for work ( I am a police officer in California. ) They fit great right out of the box. I wore them over a 10 hour shift and my feet stayed dried and warm. I love these boots. They are expensive, but are well worth it. This is my third pair of Danners. Im even looking at purchasing a pair to wear around home.

The base model is uninsulated. But, Danner does offer two pairs that are insulated. They have 200 and 600 grams of insulation respectively. The insulated pair generally run about twenty dollars or more.
