The engineers at Daiwa's research facility designed this reel with two words in mind: tough and smooth. The Daiwa® Tatula® 100 Baitcast reels are built on a solid aluminum frame with aluminum side plate on the gear and handle side of the reel. This is the precision that supports the super smooth Air Rotation system for effortless casting in a rugged low profile design. A larger and thicker drive gear in conjunction with the 8 bearing system makes for unparalleled smoothness and durability in every cast and retrieve. A slightly wider spool gives the line capacity that tournament anglers need without increasing weight. Other advantages include UTD Ultimate Tournament Drag (max 13.2 lbs.); Magforce-Z cast control; Infinite anti-reverse; T-Wing System for longer, smoother casts; cut-away extra-long swept power handle; and custom oversized handle knobs.

  • Ultra smooth, ultra tough
  • T-Wing System
  • Air Rotation is incredibly free and smooth
  • 8 BB System (7BB +1RB)
  • Solid aluminum frame and side plate (gear side)
  • Larger, stronger drive gear for more power
  • UTD Ultimate Tournament Drag (max 13.2 lbs.)
  • Magforce-Z cast control
  • Infinite anti-reverse
  • 7.9 oz reel weight
  • Cut-away extra-long swept power handle
  • Daiwa custom oversized handle knobs

Great reel Impressed with the tatula..was never a daiwa fan but the tatula outcasts most of my reels..pretty smooth..and feels solid..so now I got 2..great price for this reel.. March 1, 2014
Top notch reel for $150 This reel is simply amazing in every aspect! It's super smooth, casts a mile, and looks sick! The t-wing system is awesome and works great. I bought the one I have now for crankbaiting and will probably buy another one with a higher speed for my jigging back up. January 12, 2015
Fantastic Fantastic, ...Unbelievable...Super...Great..Got to Use it to Believe It...Smooth..Extreme....Wow..!!! Those are some of the thoughts that flashed through my mind after my 1st Cast....then it got better...I have been fishing for over 60 years and I have never before had a reel like this one in my hands...I took it out of the box & placed it on my rod and strung it up, tied on a 3/8oz swimbait and made a cast , adjusted the cast control and the tension knob and from then on the words above kept swirling in my head...Phenominal distance, Unreal smoothness...Got to try it to believe it...Came inside and ordered another one ....all at a bargain price..!! Lucky purchase I had no intention of purchasing the Diawa Tatula but I got a decent deal and I wanted a good 7.3 to 1 reel. And that's why the lucky purchase. I have only tried it out once and I was impressed. Can not wait to get it out on the river/lake and spend a day with it. I have this perched on an Abu Garcia 7 foot Veritas micro guide rod. I feel like this is a great combination with very good balance. The retrieve was both smoothe and very quite. The cast was nice in that it took less effort to cast as far as any of my other rod and reel combanations. I have never owned a Diawa reel but I find this reel to be very nice for the money.
