Rated 4 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by great reel I bought two of the 5500 series for fishing the beaches up here in Boston area. This reel reels just as smooth as my fresh water Quantum PT reels which cost upwards of $200. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is because when using the bait runner function and a fish hits, the drag is not very loud. So if you're fishing with your friends and shooting the breeze, it can be kind of tough to hear a bite. All In all this was a good purchase and would definitely buy again. December 13, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by GREAT REEL! I've used the 4500 in the OBX of North Carolina fishing the surf for the last couple of years. The Bite N' Run feature is easy to use and very helpful, it allows you to fish multiple set-ups without having to babysit them all. I've rinsed it after every use and I clean it thoroughly once a year, and she still performs like I just took 'er out of the box. Last year I teamed this reel up with an 11' Daiwa Beefstick and she was sending 8NBait far and smooth. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because I'd liked to have seen the push-button quick-change spool, instead of winding off the drag to change spools. But I guess because the free-spool tension setting "dial" is on the bottom of the reel there is really no other place to put the main drag setting. But thats just me nit-picking... All-in-all a great reel! As soon as I finish this review I will be ordering a new 6000 to add to the arsenal.... April 10, 2012

A:
Yes. You can flip the switch toward the bottom of the reel, or just pick it up and start reeling (it will automatically disengage the Bite N' Run feature when you start to reeling).

A:
Yes, you can use one or both at the same time. You can have the run clutch set at a desired setting and have the regular drag set different so it will engage when the run clutch is flipped.
