Daiwa Lexa 100 Baitcast Reel
Daiwa does it again
This reel is a great value at any price. I landed a hawg this morning with the 100PL model (4.9:1) mounted on a Browning Silaflex rod while fishing a Zara Spook and the Lexa performed flawlessly. The high torque gearing combined with the leverage provided by the 100mm handle is perfect for any size crank or topwater and is able to winch in a hard fighting lunker without a hitch. This reel is smooth and refined and the perfect bass reel. I'm sure the faster ratios would work just as well for jigs and worms. It palms well and the brake dial is in a good place for easy adjustment. The drag star is also ergonomic and easy to adjust on the fly when you need that extra drag to haul in your catch.

Loved my first one so much I bought a second
Bought the Lexa 100 HS at a Bass pro member event after the Team Daiwa Rep talked to me for over an hour. He almost had me getting the T-Wing, but it was out of my range so I opted for the Lexa 100 HS. Wow. I have been a Spin Cast guy all my life. These reels have me addicted. The H is on a 7 ft Carrot stick with MM and the the HS is on a 6'6 Abu Garcia Vendetta Medium/Fast. Because I love these reels so much, I have 2 Mojo Bass rods with a Shimano and Penn reel collecting dust that I bought last year! The magnets are easy to adjust and I frequently change from from heavy spinners to light tackle with ease while losing very little distance and the back lashes are happening very infrequently.

Great for freshwater, beware of salt
Great reel but as others have said, it is a little noisy out of the box; nothing grease and oil can change. Cast control is easy to adjust, fits great in my hands, and drag adjustment is a breeze.
Even though they say its good for light saltwater use, I wouldn't recommend it. Compared to the Lexa 300, the 100 does not have drain holes, so the salt stays trapped.
Great reel all around. Daiwa has great customer service if anything goes wrong

Received the Daiwa Lexa 100HS as a gift for Christmas. I had been previously looking at this reel, but decided on the Shimano Curado. My son apparently looked at my searches and ended up purchasing the Lexa. The Lexa is a very smooth reel, can cast a lure a mile, and easy to set up the cast controls. My plans are to buy more!!! Best present I've ever received!!!
