Simplicity @ its best Does what is expected of it, everytime. When youre having an "off" day and youre building one birdnest after another, grab one of these. I have the GC100 and it is reliable and importantly, not finicky. I've had 33's , 808's Pflueger 1810's, Abumatics..this is the best spincast yet. Does it perform like a $200 baitcaster? No. However, a novice could pick this reel up and be fishing after ten minutes of instruction and practice. I had an Abu Garcia Ambassdeur baitcaster as a "back-up" reel. This replaced that baitcaster. June 21, 2007
GC100 My son and I go trout fishing up in the mountians of Estes Park, Colorado every weekend. This reel is the best I have ever used. Put P-line Fluorocarbon on it and this is a deadly combo. We always catch about 14 trout in 2 hours with this combo. May 23, 2007
jdr this reel works great for a spincast reel. very pleased with product. does what is expected. July 11, 2006
Daiwa Goldcast I'm a proud owner of all three Daiwa Goldcast reels: small, medium, large. The small reel is excellent for panfish. The large reel I use for large channel cats. The medium I use for both. They are well built reels that perform. July 11, 2006

I use Fireline on the 10 with no problems so far. Do not troll though, the line tightens on the spool to the point that casting is impossible.

Yes. But, I would buy the Zebco Omega... no clicking noise when you retrieve plus the Zebco has three pick-up prongs on the spindle were the Diawa only has two.
