Daiwa's Goldcast is an extremely well-built spincast reel series designed to deliver advanced performance. The Goldcast Series features oscillating spool to prevent line jam-ups; stainless steel ball bearing drive; stainless steel rotor; revolving line pickup to reduce line twist, and right/left-hand retrieve. Pre-spooled with premium mono line.

Rated 5 out of 5 by goldcast reel This reel has been the most durable spin cast reel I have ever used for my kids. I have 3 boys 8,4, and 2 they can fish with these reels with little effort on my part to assist them. The reels cast nice and rarely do I have line trouble. I use the line it comes with until it gets old then I put 8lb maxima back on it being carefull not to put too much line on I have had little trouble. February 25, 2013

I use Fireline on the 10 with no problems so far. Do not troll though, the line tightens on the spool to the point that casting is impossible.

Yes. But, I would buy the Zebco Omega... no clicking noise when you retrieve plus the Zebco has three pick-up prongs on the spindle were the Diawa only has two.
