Rated 5 out of 5 by It's OK I did a lot of research prior to purchasing a new surf reel. I got the 6000. I almost went with a Penn but I liked the long cast design of the spool on this one. I also like the extra spare spool. Bass Pro Shops did an awesome job with shipping and it arrived two days early. I ordered on Thursday and it was at my door Tuesday and I live in California! I have not had a chance to use it yet but I am happy with the reel. As for Daiwa, for this price range, I would have expected a metal body (I must have missed this in my endless comparisons) and there is too much plastic on this reel. Again for this price range I expected a little better. In comparison, the Penn Battle would have been less money for an all metal body. Overall thoughI am happy with the reel and looking forward to using it.....just waiting in the striped bass to finish spawning and hit the bay and beaches then I'll be breaking this reel in!
