Daiwa® D-Wave™ 2011 Saltwater Spinning Rod and Reel Combo
A true-performer and true value, the Daiwa D-Wave Saltwater Spinning Rod and Reel Combo offers the smooth handling power anglers need to dominate inshore. The D-Wave Combo matches a medium-action, two-piece rod with a large capacity spinning reel featuring Daiwa's Digigear technology for an unbeatable blend of smooth operation, power and speed. In addition to Digigear technology, the D-Wave spinning reel is engineered with a long cast ABS (Advanced Ballistic System) aluminum spool which lets line flow freely in larger coils and produces less line memory coil and friction. The reel's Twist Buster® Line Roller works to reduce line twist and the Gyro Spin Balanced Rotor works to balance all components for super smooth retrieves. Fiberglass blank construction ensures the D-Wave rod offers the right combination of power and sensitivity, while the aluminum oxide guides and stainless steel reel seat provide salt-beating corrosion-resistance.

I bought this rod/reel combo a year ago and have fished it in Virginia, Florida and Georgia waters. It has reeled in everything from little sharks to flounders to rockfish to trout. I have been impressed that for the low price it has held up so well. I recently actually lost the handle from the reel but for $35 I will just be buying another one. Fantastic little saltwater rig for the price.

This rod and reel work very well and I am very happy with the value and quality of the gear for the price I paid. I caught three fish in about 45 minutes one day after work this week. I am very satisfied with the purchase.

These reels are filled with good strong nonofilament line.A:Â
Personally I respool a rod even if it comes with line already. The reason I do that is, line gets old as it sits exposed so I always spend the $7-$8 for new line just for the reassurance that there is new line on the reel. Berkley Trilene Maxx or Big Game is pretty good in the 12# range for just about everything.Answers
