Daiwa® Black Gold Rod and Reel Combo
No one is harder on tackle than Ralph Delph, Key West fishing guide legend, and his two sons, Rob and Mike. Only one reel meets their expectations consistently, reliably, time after time: Daiwa Black Gold (BG).
‘‘As hard as we fish—even with routine maintenance—it’s amazing any reel can hold up,’’ Delph says, ‘‘But we have some BG’s that are over 18 years old and still going strong. You just can’t expect more from a reel.’’

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Fishing with my son Great Rod and Reel for the money
Priced slightly higher than the reel itself. A pair of these with great quality rods from Diawa, and they fit into my budget (fishing budget). We bought the BG 60's for 20 pound test and fishing from Pompano pier. Perfect combo's. Diawa BG's are reels that will give you many years of dependable service and pleasure.

Bought this as my new combo after getting rid of the tackle I had a few years ago when we moved away from water. Read the reviews on here and appeared a solid setup for amateur and serious anglers alike with even a charter Captain using them in his business. I had it loaded with 20lb of braided line and it works flawlessly. I have only caught a few fish on it but it got a good workout with some redfish and a black drum in the flats last weekend and never missed a beat. Smooth retrieval, easy clean up and the drag worked great allowing me to start light and gradually increase as needed while working fish. Great setup and outstanding value in my opinion.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by MuskieMagnet87 Best Spinning combo for big fish!
I've had the BG60 combo for years now, I mostly do a lot of freshwater fishing for muskie. Everybody calls me muskie magnet since I got the rod & reel. I think it brings me luck. It holds up to hard hook-sets, the reel still performs like it's brand new, and I can dead lift 50lb fish into the boat that rod is unbreakable.

This rod is excellent, i used it recently in the Keys, caught me a 3 foot bull shark, i didnt even feel it, this rod performed well and was able to withstand the fight. I am satisfied with this rod and so are many others, highly recomended

Most of my fishing is off of a N.C. fishing pier casting buck-tail, gotcha plugs, and lead head Jigs for blues, trout, spanish mackeral etc. Sometimes catch two at a time - can the BG 30 handle the load of dead lifting 5-6 lbs. of fish over the rail? Does it cast well - recommended line?Q:Â

Guessing your talking about either the the BG30 or 60, I would go with the BG60 combo. My motto is to be over prepared if anything to be ready for everything. I've caught 100+ 50lb Zander on mine, you just can't beat this thing.1 of 1
