  • Thick body and wide tail
  • Ideal for flippin' and pitchin'
  • Easy to cast
  • Enticing tail action
  • Ideal in heavy grass and wood
Fish to the max with the Culprit Fat Max! With a thick body and wide tail, the Fat Max Worm is perfect for flipping and pitching in heavy cover—all year-long! The Fat Max's bulked-up body and wide tail displace a considerable amount of water, and it resists snags, too. Because it's thicker, the added weight makes it easier to cast. Better still, the tail design doesn't wrap around cover. And while the Fat Max produces results in waters of all clarities, it is particularly good in stained water around wood, or in clear water around weeds. Made in USA.

Rated 5 out of 5 by About time! Culprits were my favorite because when all else failed, they always let me pick up a couple fish. The only problem was that they were too light to throw any distance without weights. With the Fat Max, you can almost cast as far as a Stik-O and cover a lot more water. Really happy they made these. Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT GREAT WORM... i knew culprit made good qaulity worms, but this worm put culprit on a whole new level. the thicker body helps casting distance especially when its windy, and the wide tail gives awesome action. this bait will truly catch anything. it looks great when it swims. i prefer red shad and watermelon colors as do the fish.... HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! June 2, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME! Absolutely phenominal! If you love to fish worms...its hard not to love this bait! The thickness and body of a 10"+ worm in a shorter presentation. and the x-tra wide, thick, ribbed tail has awesome action! June 1, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by good stuff" Was first time trying culprit fat max worm--- the wider tail moves more water and the thicker body makes it eaisier to cast on those windy days along with actually getting more bites! my favorite colors are watermelon and green punkin Will order some more! The black shad Fat Max is the same as the smaller version, so I guess the red shad is the same. I fish for largemouth bass and use Gamakatsu size 5/0 offset shank worm extra wide gap, Texas rigged. 3/0 and 4/0 size hooks also work well.
The worm bodies are 7/16" wide, app. 3" long, with tails app. 4" long, 7" total.

Red Shad color is just like the old Red shad color and I would suggest a 2/0 or 3/0 wide gap off set hook.

Staff Answer
A:
The red shad color does feture the old version color (black back with a red belly). As for the thickness of the worm, it does have a much thicker profile than a standard curl tail worm. For a 7 inch worm, try using a 4/0 or 5/0 hook.
