Articles & Information
With its ''Super Simple Setup'' protocol, the Cuddeback® Capture™ IR Digital Scouting Camera is possibly the easiest, fastest scouting camera ever! Its Right Now™ Trigger Technology delivers twice the trigger speed of any previous Cuddeback camera (less than 1/3 of a second). The Innovative Rotary Switch makes programming as simple as setting an alarm clock. The emphasis is on performance, with high-clarity 5 MP images in full color during the day and crisp 1.3 MP black and white infrared images at night. The Capture’s 40' flash range gives you full coverage of potential hunting spots. Delay settings give you the options of setting delays as short as 30 seconds up to 30 minutes. Date/time stamp; easy test mode. Store your images on an SD card (not included).
Note: A Cuddeback Capture IR Software/Firmware update for improved low battery indicator performance and better infrared performance is available at www.cuddeback.com. The update is located under Product Support.

I bought one of these thinking that since it's a Cuddeback, it shoulb be great. Boy was I wrong. It burned up 2 sets of batteries in less than 3 weeks and the night pics are horrible. Extremely grainy. Anything that passed by more than about 10 feet away was unidentifiable because the IR flash range is very poor. I returned this camera for a refund. I believe the quality has been reduced in order to meet a price point.

After hearing how great Cuddeback was, I couldn't wait to try my Capture IR for the first time. Takes horrible pictures at night. The pictures are so blurry that I can't even determine if the deer on camera are doe or bucks. I have a cheaper StealthCam and it performs far better. I'm terribly sorry I spent so much money on this Cuddeback.

I typically have had great success with more expensive cuddeback cameras. I bought this model as a gift. It did a great job of triggering as deer and anything else that walked by. However, after only a week, the IR stopped working and the night images no longer showed up. All you could see were the eyes of the deer. We even made sure to move the camera into a location that the furthest pictures were only 10 ft. and still no luck. So we are taking it back in hopes we just got a lemon the first time. I hate to write a bad review for cuddeback, but so far, no good for this particular model.

The set up could not be easier. Takes less than a full minute. However, I can't make out the pictures it takes at night as they are extremely blurry. I feel confident that I probably got a lemon, because I never hear bad things about this camera. Good luck.1 of 1
