Cuddeback Stinks
I had five of these cameras and last year I fount a new property that was kicking with the amount of deer on it. I set all five cameras out and returned two weeks later. I could hardly wait to get to the cameras and check the pics. One area had a a scrape and a tree 8" in diameter rubbed in front of the camera. Pulled the SD card and to my suprise, No pics on any of the cameras. The cameras messed up and would not write to the SD cards. I tried everything. This is not my 1st rodeo with trail camreas. I have about 30 that I used on different properties. I called Cuddeback and there customer service stinks. I was on hold for 20-40 minutes each time and eventually I sent all five cameras back to them. (This is during deer season, mind you). After three weeks I had to call cuddeback back and try and figure out what I going on. After 3 different phone calls, they told me that they are deffentaly problems with all five cameras and they cannot fix them. They will take 25% off a new version of there newest camrea, and that is all they can do. I will never purchase a Cuddeback camera as long as I live. You couldn't give me one for free. I went to Bushnell Trophy HD versions. Currently they are the best, besides Reconyx, and they can compare pretty similar.

Great product
The Cuddyback trail cams are awesome, I owe 2 & wouldn't hesitate to buy another. I've tried other more expensive trail cams & had nothing but problem, I've never had a single issue with the Cuddyback!
Someone poked a hole in the lens cover & I was able to buy a replacement lens cover for just a few dollars!

DON"T BUY
I have had 3 of these cameras in the past with no issues. The last one I purchased, the flash did not work. After reading the recent reviews, I think that the remaining cameras have been shuffled around the warehouse for the past few years and many of them seem to have problems. Spend the little extra money and buy a new model. I purchased the Bushnell Trophy Cam and it is great!

great camera when on sale
One of my favorite trail cameras. For $100 you can't go wrong. Takes great day and night pictures. Decent battery life. Only negative is it doesn't have a battery indicator so you don't know the strength of batteries.
Overall this is one of my favorite cameras in the field. Not sure why so many negatives. Im running 5 cuddebacks, and haven't had any problems yet.

I use a digital camera in the field to review my pics.A:Â
The camera uses standard SD cards. You can take the card out and view it with your regular camrea if you want while in the outdoors.A:Â
Any SD card will work but the 1Gig or 2Gig cards work best. You can use a camera to view the pics, but every now and then cameras do something to the cards that makes you reformat them when returned to the cuddeback. When you reformat, the pics will be erased, so you need a minimum of 2 cards.A:Â

You have to use an SD card. It only will take a 2 gb SD card. You can preview the pictures on the Cuddeback camera first and then put them into the computer using a card reader. Very simple!A:Â
Yes, you can use the same SD Card that you use in your digital camera. The only thing is I believe that you can only use 2MB card and below in your game cam. I go to my Moultree Game Spy camera, remove the SD Card, put it in my digital camera, and review my pics. You do not need to buy a game camera picture viewer if you have a digital camera.Answers

From my experience will Cuddebacks it really depends on how hot it is outside and the body size of what you're trying to get a picture of. During cooler months, below 80* during the day, I've gotten pictures from 75+ feet.A:Â

I think the flash is automatic, it actuates at night when there is movement sensed. I would not recommend it if you're doing human surveillance. Consider an Infrared camera instead.A:Â

The Capture comes with a nylon strap that can be wrapped around a small tree. I have nailed the straps to larger trees. There are no pre-drilled holes in the camera, and I would not recommend screwing the case to a tree, as it might ruin the watertight integrity of the camera and cause problems with the printed circuit board inside.A:Â
On the Capture the flash is always on at night and dim lit conditions. There is no way to turn it off.A:Â

It flashes like any other camera, only when it's dark. So if you want a camera for use at night also, I would go with an infrared camera. I've had the cuddeback infrared model. They work ok at night, but the image must be close, or it's hard to pick out specific details(ie.- license plate #'s)Details:Â

You can use the supplied cable system, and a bungy cord of your own, for extra support... It also can be screwed into a tree with a supplied screw. Hope this helps.
