Get great quality images with minimal setup time and effort with the Cuddeback® Capture™ Digital Game Camera. The Capture's ''Super Simple Setup'' protocol makes setup and use quick and easy. Just insert the batteries and storage card, set the time, date, and year, pick a delay setting, and go! Revolutionary Right Now™ Trigger Technology cuts the trigger speed in half compared to other Cuddeback cameras, triggering in roughly 1/3 of a second. The innovative Rotary Switch makes programming as simple as setting an alarm clock. From there, the emphasis is on performance, with high-quality 3MP images in full color, day and night. 50' flash range for great coverage. Flash recovers quickly, sometimes as fast as 30 seconds. Features 5 delay settings from 30 seconds to 30 minutes, date/time stamp, and easy test mode. Stores images on an SD card (not included). Efficient camera takes more than 2000 images per set of batteries.

Rated 1 out of 5Â by clintoncowboy awful camera
I own this camera, a bushnell bone collector and a moultrie D55. This camera is by far the worst one. It will not take pics. Thought maybe the sd card needed to be formatted so we did that. Still not working. Called Cuddeback and they sent us to a web site to reformat the camera. Set the camera up around the house and it worked. Took it to the field and it took about 20pics and quit working again. Dont know what the problem is with this camera but it has been a nightmare. Save your money and buy something else. The only reason I gave it a 1 star is because you have to assign at least one star to any product you review. Buy the Moultire D55. Its cheaper and is better

Takes four D Batteries. Buy decent ones, as the Cuddeback Capture tends to eat batteries.A:Â

Unless you get it out of reach or in a tamper proof case, IMO, no game came is tamper proof.A:Â
No not tamper proof. You'll need to either build a box, or purchase a tamper proof container to place the Capture inside.A:Â
HECK no, if it gets damaged at all they will not fix it under warranty but they will offer you 50% off a new camera and the only have two out right not so you will spend a 100 dollars to get a new working cameraA:Â
You can buy a bear proof cover that is metal to put the camera in and it will work fine.A:Â
It can be locked, but if someone wants to damage it they can.A:Â
No, the camera is not tamper proof.Details:Â
By image viewer, i mean do i have to use a CuddeBack image viewer for viewing pictures from my Scouting Camera?Answers
A:Â
I use a digital camera in the field to review my pics.A:Â
The camera uses standard SD cards. You can take the card out and view it with your regular camrea if you want while in the outdoors.A:Â
Any SD card will work but the 1Gig or 2Gig cards work best. You can use a camera to view the pics, but every now and then cameras do something to the cards that makes you reformat them when returned to the cuddeback. When you reformat, the pics will be erased, so you need a minimum of 2 cards.A:Â
I have used just about every brand out there with no problems. Yes you can use another mfg viewer I doA:Â
They recommend SanDisk.A:Â
You can use any memory card and a digital camera will be able to view the pictures.A:Â
Some point and shoot cameras will allow viewing and some will not due to format of the camera. The literature that comes with the cuddeback states you should check the digital camera first if you want to use it for viewing. My Fuji works fine.A:Â
You have to use an SD card. It only will take a 2 gb SD card. You can preview the pictures on the Cuddeback camera first and then put them into the computer using a card reader. Very simple!A:Â
Yes, you can use the same SD Card that you use in your digital camera. The only thing is I believe that you can only use 2MB card and below in your game cam. I go to my Moultree Game Spy camera, remove the SD Card, put it in my digital camera, and review my pics. You do not need to buy a game camera picture viewer if you have a digital camera.Answers

What kind of batteries does this camera hold and how many does it hold? Is there an auxil battery pack availableas well?Answers
A:Â
I think the flash is automatic, it actuates at night when there is movement sensed. I would not recommend it if you're doing human surveillance. Consider an Infrared camera instead.A:Â
d size 4 of them no external packA:Â
The camera takes 4 D cell bateries. I don't know if there is an auxil battery pack available.A:Â
4D cells, no battery packs. I can usually get 700+ pics from a set of batteries.A:Â
it uses 6 D Batteries, I get best service from EnergizersA:Â
4 d batteriesA:Â
4 D batteries, last long time if you get a good capture, some go faster than others regardless of number of pic's or weather. no auxil. back up packsA:Â
4-D batteries. I have never seen a aux. battery packA:Â
It uses 4ea. D cell flashlight batteries.I just got over 1000 pics during a 90 day period and the battreries were still working. I just change them out to make sure they will last until I return. I do not know about the aux. power pack. I really dont think you need one. These picks are over a 90 day perion only 6 out of over 1000! If you will notice the stand in the background is over 150yds. away.

The Capture comes with a nylon strap that can be wrapped around a small tree. I have nailed the straps to larger trees. There are no pre-drilled holes in the camera, and I would not recommend screwing the case to a tree, as it might ruin the watertight integrity of the camera and cause problems with the printed circuit board inside.A:Â
On the Capture the flash is always on at night and dim lit conditions. There is no way to turn it off.A:Â
Yes.A:Â
yes i beleive so you would always want the flash on any way to catch all pics at night i usally get 2 months on the batteries averging a 100 pics a weekA:Â
yes always at night ,IR has poor pic quality and rangeA:Â
You can set it w/out flash.Top 100 Contributor
A:Â
It flashes like any other camera, only when it's dark. So if you want a camera for use at night also, I would go with an infrared camera. I've had the cuddeback infrared model. They work ok at night, but the image must be close, or it's hard to pick out specific details(ie.- license plate #'s)Details:Â
does this scouting camera screw into the tree?Answers
A:Â
This camera has a strap that you just put around the tree and tighten up.A:Â
No, requires the use of the nylon strap provided.A:Â
Camera does not screw into tree. It is strapped to tree with small strap.A:Â
no it does not, I wish it did that would make it easier to aimA:Â
no,and stap is junk, buy trail pod or moultree mount they work greatA:Â
You can use the supplied cable system, and a bungy cord of your own, for extra support... It also can be screwed into a tree with a supplied screw. Hope this helps.1 of 1
