My kid was happy this was a birthday gift for my son and he was so excited to use it. it was the best gift i ever got him October 29, 2012
optimus its a very good gun and nice wood. The bad thing is the scope broke after a while. I still use it but without the scope. Its accurate without the scope too. September 22, 2012
Good accurate gun After break in (roughly 200 shots) it will consistently make a 1", 5 shot group, from 25 yards. Great rifle for plinking, haven't tested it out on any critters yet though. If its anything like my old crosman springmaster for pest control (Another great gun, but the optimus is better yet) it should do fine. April 1, 2012
Not Happy Bought this gun on Thanksgiving day. You cant hit a paper plate twice with 20 shots at 25 yards. Very dissapointed. Was to be a Christmas present for my nephew. Cant give this thing to him! December 8, 2011

Staff Answer
It all depends on what the gun will be used for. Varmint control, target practice and/or competition shooting.
If its varmint control I would use either a hollow point or pointed pellet. Our premier pellets are the LHP77 (hollow pt), LSP77(super point). There is also our regular pellets P177(pointed) and our pointed expanding pellet DS177
For target practice/plinking I would use either a domed, match or hollow point. Our premier pellets are LUM77/177HB/177DB(domed), LM77(match) and LHP77(hollow pt). There is also our regular pellet 6177(watcutter).
For competition I would use a heavier grain pellet. Our premier pellet would be LUM77 & 177DB (domed) & LUM77(match).
