What you get is a cheap styrofoam bucket with string for a handle. My wife bought me one for Christmas and expected a plastic bucket with a nice lid. It does fit inside of a 5 gallon bucket. Then your fighting the lid and string every time you open it, but the styrofoam won't last long by itself

works fairly well
the bubble bucket works fairly well. It will keep your bait alive. 2 d-cell batteries will run it for 12 hours. I used rechargeable batteries and carried some extra for the trip, we fished all day and still had minnows alive when we returned home. then we took the kids to our home pond and used them.
