Light and very good sun protection while bone fishing in Bahamas, first was tan color and we liked it so much I got her a second one because purple favorite color, didn't spook the fish and still very cool, even wore it in town while shopping at the markets, excellent quality
If your wife is in the sun, gardening or spending time with you in the boat, this will make her very happy and she WILL wear it more than once
Easy to wash and didn't fade

I purchased several of Columbia's hats for rain and sun protection because of my prior experience with their hats and I was not disappointed. They all are durable, functional, and easily adjustable. I especially like the chin strap that keeps the hat on the head even in the wind. The wind is ever present in San Francisco and having a chin strap is a must. Great products.

This hat is a replacement for my first Columbia bought about 15 years ago. I still love my first hat but the rim got a little saggy. I love my new hat, it is perfect.
