I am a river guide in Moab UT and used these shorts all summer. I am a woman and like the longer length, deep pockets, and mesh lining (do wish they had a 7" length). They do start to smell a little after being used all day in the sun and in and out of the water (you urinate in the water), but they scrub up nicely and the smell goes away. They dry amazingly fast, which is necessary on the river.

Way too big and color was misleading, thought it was a lighter slate blue. Nice quality.

The last pair of Columbia shorts I got the nylon belt was sewn to the elastic! Junk! Makes the belt useless.

Belt goes full circle, but the buckle side of the strap is sewn in place for security I guess; it will cinch up though, as you tighen the unsecured end.Answers
