The Columbia Ascender II is a great jacket all around. Though it wouldn't replace a "true" winter coat, it works wonders against the cold for as light of a jacket as it is (I wore it in 10 degree weather and could feel the cold, but was still fairly warm considering). It's very comfortable to wear in warmer conditions too though and doesn't make the wearer overly hot (I also wear it indoors at work and don't get over heated by doing so). The only note I have on the way it wears is that (as multiple people have pointed out in online reviews) it does ride up into the armpit more than a "normal" jacket would, but as long as you get the right size it's not uncomfortable at all (I don't even notice that it does so unless I'm actually looking at it). It's great that the jacket is also wind/water resistant so you don't get soaked if it's raining or snowing. Overall a great jacket that I would highly recommend to others, but I would also like to make a personal note that if you do plan on getting the jacket at Bass Pro, shop around online first! I found out that if you bring in proof of the price to the store, they will match the price of the item to the online price (as long as it's not on sale; in my case I saved about $30 off of what Bass Pro was selling it for!).

The coat is amazing but runs really small im 16 and I got An adult medium and I needed a large it seems very durable and warm I can't wait for it to come back!!
