The Powerchill Hot/Cold Thermoelectric Cooler uses electricity from your vehicle to either cool or heat its interior, depending on your needs. Its motor design delivers quiet, long lasting performance without adding much weight. The Powerchill possesses a flexible design that allows you to use it standing upright or in the more traditional chest position. You can also set up the door to open from the left or right. Cooler lowers its interior temperature up to 40° lower than surrounding temperature in cool mode and heats its interior temperature up to 110-140° higher than surrounding temperature in warm mode. Giving you room for 44 cans plus snacks, the Powerchill 40-Quart Hot/Cold Cooler is great for trips, RVs, campers, dorm rooms, or the office! I'm thinking of putting this on my boat for weekend trips. What are the dimensions of the unit, and what clearance does it need to work? What is the amp draw? Is it continuously on, or is there a thermostat?

I have a deep cycle house battery, but it also runs the lights and a fan when required. I keep it charged with a solar panel when not in use, but over a weekend on board I would likely not put it up.

This unit will not properly cool unless it is continually running and it does not have a thermostat. What I have listed below is exactly what is printed in the instruction manual on page one.

CAPACITY: Fifty-eight (12 oz.) beverage cans or six (2-liter) beverage bottles. 40 U.S. Quarts, 1.34 cu-ft, 37.85 liters inside volume.
