Rated 5 out of 5 by Toddicus Excellent Light for Dark Nights I have horrible night vision and was hoping this product would keep me camping in dark woods. It definitely will. This lantern puts off usable light as far as fifty feet in each direction. It will easily light up a reasonable sized camp site. With the cage surrounding the globe, I believe the soft case will be plenty to protect the globe during travel. I would highly recommend the product to anyone: Just a note: The electronic ignition took a few clicks to wear whatever it was packed in off of the tip. Once that is done it lights every time. Rated 5 out of 5 by 502bg A must have I have used this lantern for a couple of seasons now and it is the best I have ever used. And I have used a lot! I use it with a thirty pound propane tank that I set up at the cooking station, for the bright light while cooking. Then when I come in from hunting after dark it is easy to get quick and hassle free light. Then I can get my other white gas portable lanterns going. Works great for me. The simple and easy lighting makes it wife and kid friendly, The lantern it self is great, the soft sided case is kinda junkie because the zipper does not work well, I would advise you to invest in a hard case. Can I directly connect this lantern to the top of the propane distribution post(without using distribution hose)? If not, what lanterns can?

Yes, you should be able to. If you look at the Propane Distribution Post item, number 1610802 the lantern is hooked up directly to the post. Therefore, you would not have to use the hose. Thanks
