You will not believe how much you need one or two of these. I have used them for many years and it makes lighting camp so much easier. Many more option as to where to put the light to keep camp lit up good and keep the bugs away. It is hard to pack but worth it.

I never felt the need to have one of these untill I was camping last fall with a friend who has one.
We were able to hang the lantern higher than if it was just sitting on a picnic table (like I usually do) and it helped to spread more light around camp.
One other benefit to hanging the lantern away from the table was keeping the bugs that are attracted to the light a bit farther from the table.
I just bought my own for the upcoming camping season since it turned out to be much more useful than I thought it would be. A must have if you do a lot of chores around camp at night!

Before I bought this it always seemed I was trying to get my lantern up higher. We normally camp amongst plenty of trees so we always have a place to hang the lantern. The hanger is easy to use and lightweight and doesn't do any damage to the tree. It doesn't fold so it's a bit of a pain to put in the pack. Without a doubt a useful item.
