Coleman Dual Fuel 2-Mantle Powerhouse Lantern
Very pleased - Bright lantern
Bought this last night and tried it out when I got home. Easy to use. Read and follow the directions (especially when using the Coleman funnel - ingenious) when filling and starting. A great - decades old - design that is hard to beat. Liquid fuel is cheaper than disposable propane bottles, is readily available, and works when it is cold out - or you're at higher altitudes. I also bought the optional plastic case - fits tightly after I get handle turned right way. Can't wait to take it camping this weekend.

Top of the Line
I have had mine for over 7 years without a single problem, it is very bright and if you run out of coleman fule you can use reg gas...
I rate the lantern a solid 4 stars . Only wish it had the push button lighting system or I would give it 5 stars.

I have owned many Coleman lanterns in the past, I bought this one just to see what all the hype was about. I always read reviews before I field test anything. This is a nice lantern, as far as I could tell it wasnt that much brighter than the older ones, yes a little brighter, but dont expect to be blown away. It opperates just like the old one and is simple to use. I bought 2 and ran 1 with Coleman oil and 1 with regular gasoline, once lit I couldnt tell a difference. I have always liked these types of lanterns and this one did not disapoint.

Buy it while you still can
Coleman still makes some of the best liquid fuelled lanterns and stoves. Most of us have noticed a trend toward propane though, and while many people enjoy the convenience of a propane cylinder, gases do not work all that well in very cold weather. Coleman appears to be phasing out many of its liquid-fuelled products, such as the three burner dual fuel stove. This is unfortunate because I have found their liquid fuelled products far superior. This lantern throws a surprising amount of light and welcome heat and is very simple to use. I bought two of these, one as a Christmas gift for a camping friend and one for my own collection of Coleman lanterns. It appears to have many of the Coleman values of old, regardless of where the parts are made.
