Coleman still makes some of the best liquid fuelled lanterns and stoves. Most of us have noticed a trend toward propane though, and while many people enjoy the convenience of a propane cylinder, gases do not work all that well in very cold weather. Coleman appears to be phasing out many of its liquid-fuelled products, such as the three burner dual fuel stove. This is unfortunate because I have found their liquid fuelled products far superior. This lantern throws a surprising amount of light and welcome heat and is very simple to use. I bought two of these, one as a Christmas gift for a camping friend and one for my own collection of Coleman lanterns. It appears to have many of the Coleman values of old, regardless of where the parts are made.

Love that it burns unleaded fuel! It was the perfect father's day gift.

Aside from light, this Lantern also gives off heat, which is important on some chilly nights in a tent or pop up camper, or during a winter power failure. Once the mantels start to burn they give off at least 20 watts, or so it seems to me. It is easy to maintain and will provide years of service.

This lantern is very good, I didn`t compare it with other models, but it is very bright and very easy to use.
With one tank of gas you get 7 hours of light, and you only have to pump the gas 2 or 3 times during the 7 hours.
