Sections run up to 2.5 hours on built-in NiMH rechargeable batteries.

The Coleman light exceeded our expectations, so much so we now have two! The plastic material is sturdy and fairly light. Considering the two lights together has 4D batteries or the Coleman CPX6 power pack, the weight is heaver than a flashlight. Each side has 3 AAA rechargeable batteries, that allows for taking one side or both, away form the power farme. The sides by them self give really good light. The light is not a adjustable beam, it's more like a wide spread headlight.
What makes theis light even more useful is the CPX6 power pack allows for recharging from the house outlet or from the 12 volt vehicle outlet.

i got this to go on a camping trip and it works very good for what you need with out the hassle of propane. i use it on camping trips black out in a storm i got 4 rechargeable batterys for it i might get the battery pack for it. the only thing i can say bad is that some parts are thin plastic but that make it light to carry around

I was so delighted with this lantern. It turned out to be better than expected. The fact that it can come apart to make 2 lanterns is extremely practical. We got to use it the 1st night we had it as my husband was doing some work under the kitchen sink. The half of the lantern that we used was perfect to light up his work area. This is a great prep item for when the power goes out. Every home should have one.
