I see you have a space blanket for $4.50 that is 56 X 84 and is red on one side and silver on the other. What is different in these 2 products as reflected in the huge price difference?Answers
A:Â
Emergency Blankets normally have a thin sheet of aluminized polyester (silver in color). Thermal Blankets normally have aluminized polyester on one side (silver), a middle layer of fiberglass, with a polyethylene backing (red). Hence the price difference. ThanksAnswers

Per Coghlan's:"The thermal blanket consists of a thin sheet layer of aluminum to reflect and retain body heat. The opposite side is which is designed to absorb the sun’s heat.In combination, this will help to raise the body temperature of someone who is hypothermic or help to keep warm on cool nights if in the wilderness.
The blanket itself does not have a rated temperature as it does not make heat nor is it affected by constant exposure to sunlight. In other words, it will not breakdown with repeated sun exposure under normal use."
