purchased this product after i bought my first kayak.First time out the product worked fine.Second time out on a lake it started to rain.After my trip took the radio out of my boat it kept scanning on its own would not go back to the standard screen.I can only assume water got into the unit.Took the radio back to bass pro the salesman said there having alot of issues with this model.My advice is to stay away from this model until cobra can get the bugs out.Its best to purchase another brand.

At 6 watts they claim it will work well around the lake.I fish lake lavon several of us bought this after we were told by bass pro salesman that it would do the job well we have yet to be able to talk to each other I like the store overall but am very unhappy about this purchase
