I travel long distance on weekend trips and vacations , and I use CB radios when I need info about the road ahead or info on the general area. I recently purchased a new truck but did not want to mount a radio to the dash. So I decided after some research on other sites that I would purchase the Roadtrip. I got it a few weeks ago and it works just as good as some mobile radios that I had previously . I had no problems communicating with others around me and receiving others ahead of me. Using the external antenna improves range but the wires become a little bit of a pain, I used the twist ties and managed the wires by bundling them together and it worked out just fine. Don't buy this expecting to talk 20 miles away ,if thats the case then this is not the radio for you. It works well for me , I feel it was a good buy. I'm satisfied.

after i purchased a cobra 38wxst cb hand held
radio, i found out it has no range, about
300 yards at the most. it is bad design, do not buy

I have had this CB Radio for 11 months.
I cant even pick up the weather. I sent it
back to Cobra, paid the shiping, they sent it back, said could not find any problems.
Turns out this raido is only good for 200-300 yards. I wasted my money! Yours truly, Joe
