Rated 5 out of 5Â by BESC Christmas Gift
Have not used this yet, and was afraid I had purchased something my husband and son may not like. But, when it was opened on Christmas morning, I knew I had bought the right gift! They are excited and feel this was a great purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by ETuck Great Purchase
VHF Radio works great! Great reception and easy to use. Great value for price! Only disadvantage I can think of is that it doesnt come with a "disconnect" plug on the power cord to enable removal during boat storage. I know the unit is supposedly water/sun proof, but....ya know. Went to local automotive parts store and purchased a 2 cord (+ & -) trailer wiring disconnect plug, and it worked perfectly. I would recommend using "heat shrink" butt splices for all electrical terminations, but hey, I am an electrician, so it may be overkill.

This unit works just as stated. Easy to use. Clear and loud sound. I really like the mic unit as well. Great overall value.

How does the radio handle after being wet frequently? Washing the boat and sometimes being caught in a storm, its just gonna get wet. Does the customer need to be especially cautious about water damage?Answers

the radio itself would do fine but id suggest that you use waterproof connectors for the power wiresA:Â
The marine radio meets JIS7 standards; Submersible for 30 minutes in one meter deep water. The radio still should work great if it gets wet due to rain or washing the boat. ThanksQ:Â

As far as I know Cobra and other manufacturers generally make their mounted units available in black or white and sometimes grey. The units we sell in store are more often than not white. Thanks and come see us at Bass Pro Shops Orlando!1 of 1
