I was told these would be ok for winter storage. My boat is 75 miles away and I check it about once a month. I found the poles had snapped in two, allowing the snow and ice to puddle, also laying on and deforming my cushions.
I had these poles strapped and the cover well supported, but these did not hold up.
I had ice and water all over the boat, hoping it's not damaged come springtime.
I guess I'll go back to getting it poly wrapped.

The concept of the pole system is good but the very cheap plasic didn't hold. If they break it could potentially poke a hole in your cover. I'm very pleased with the quality of the cover but the support polls are worthless.

I think that this is a good pole. It might last more than one season. I wish it was a bit thicker plastic so it will last longer and wish my cover came with two of them
