Had these on the boat for 1 trip so far. Bought them to get more rods overhead onto T-Top. Power washed all of boat (including holders) and looked 1 week later to see rust spots all over on vertical of holder. Trying stainless cleaner and wax to prevent, time will tell. I will need to return if continues.

I'm looking to mount this onto a square piece of chromed metal. Are there any rubber "buffers" inside the clamp that will keep this rod holder from scratching the chrome? Secondly, are there any "rod stoppers" in this holder to keep the rod from falling through the bottom?
