Weighing in at only 12 lbs., The Clam Chair features two easy-access rod and reel scabbards, two long tip-up length accessory compartments, built-in fish bag, exterior mesh storage pouch and two medium size storage compartments ideal for tackle boxes and bait. Rated 2 out of 5 by Needs some work. I will begin with the chair is sturdy, however it does not do well if you are sitting it directly on the ice. The bars on the bottom become slippery and begin to glide around on you when you lean over and/or get up. Also, when you do stand up it has a tendency to fall over backward. I will agree with the other reviewers on the straps ~ what a joke. There is no way to keep them from slipping off of your shoulders (they need an adjustable chest strap). I purchased 2 of these chairs, we decided to take 1 out and took the bucket for the 2nd seat. The bucket won our votes! Seats are going back. December 16, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by More Room In Suitcase Shanty If you own a shanty with a flat floor and no seat, this thing works like a charm. I have owned a Clam Corp 2000 and a Frabill Refuge and both have room limitations. With this chair replacing the standard bucket or lawn chair it offers more back support, is more comfortable and takes up less room, leaving more room for junk food, gear, and if were lucky, Fish! Packs up small enough to use as a backpack although the straps are too far apart from each other and without holding on to both of the straps while walking or affixing them together with a bungie Like I do, the will slip down your arm driving you nuts. Also they only work on flat surfaces. I have tried using it on ice and it dependibly falls bckwards every time I stand up.getting my gear soaked when the ice is wet and me the laughing stock on the ice. So inside flat shanty with floor- great! on ice directly not so great. December 18, 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Mobility must have If you like to hole hop on those warm ice fishing days this may be a great product for you. I really like the fact that I can pack 4 rod/real combos inside and still have plenty of room for lure cases and anything else I want to take on the ice with me. The backpack straps need some work though. They are way to wide to wear on my shoulders and keep falling off. You have to find a way to pull the straps together but after you do that you will definetly like this product. December 17, 2008
