Designed for braided line, the Mackinaw Baitcast Rod is one of the most versatile trout rods for fishing inside or outside an ice shelter. Famous for taking lake trout, the Mackinaw Rod is used extensively on the Great Lakes and inland waters. The Mackinaw Rod boasts a Hyper Modulus Graphite blank that reduces the fatigue that comes from jigging heavier lures. It also has the sensitivity to help sense those light-biting lake trout. A spiraled guide wrap only adds to this sensitivity, while absorbing shock and reducing ice buildup in the bait cast reel. An extra-long, split-grip handle provides better balance and leverage. This rod is great when fishing for pike and salmon, too!
