I an newer to bass fishing and I do high school fishing and my coach told me about these and they are amazing. There are days where the bass will not stop biting them. There sent smells almost like a garlic pizza and is very distinct and strong.

There are a lot of grubs out there but the fish seem to hold on to these a little longer which gives the fisherman extra time to set the hook. One of the few grubs I use that works for both large and small
mouth bass and they even catch a fair share of walleyes.

I have purchased the stand up jig. What is the best way to hook into this bate with the jig?Answers
A:
I use this lure texas rig with a 4/0 wide gap hook. its a bit big but the shank fits right between the tail without having to go through the bait before making it weedlessA:
I just run the jig hook as though I was Texas rigging a worm. In the top, right out and down the side coming back in at the end. I make the jigs with small lead heads and an oversized hook for the jig head.A:
Size the grub up - hold it next to your jig to see where the hook should exit. Then put the hook straight into the top middle in between all the strans of the skirt and go straight down the middle of the bait, the distance you sized up. Come straight out in the middle of the 2 seams of the bait. Make sure the bait is straight.Top 250 Contributor

This rigging depends on the type of jig that you have.If it is a screw-lock or bait retainer jig, then just slip the head of the bait on the retainer then hook the body of the bait.
If it is a pure jig head with bait holder spike, just slide it on Texas-rig style.

yes and i actually use these instead of yamamotos skirted twin tail. i think the garlic adds something that makes bass hold on longer and they last longer.A:
Yes, Plus the sent is unbelievable!!A:
Personally, I don't think that they are more durable, but the softer plastic of these baits helps trigger more bites and fish seem to hold on longer...plus the strong garlic/salt flavor is a great cover/trigger scent.Top 250 Contributor
A:
They are similar in durability to the Yamamoto, perhaps a bit more durable but not much.A:
Yes and they catch bass just as good!Top 250 Contributor
A:
yes, a hole lot more durable. i have had problems with yamotas skirted grubs tail being bit off. while chompers the fish like more and never ahs a messed up body.Details:
What size hook should you use for 4" and 5" chompers?Answers
A:
I primarily use the 4" grubs and I use a 2/0 hook.A:
I use fairly small jigs, so the hooks are smallish - but since I use it as a trailer hook size is not critical. Same would be true for you.A:
NO. 0/2 & 0/3 light wire hooksare your best results chuck 22
