I purchased these boots Sep 2010, and have used them for 4 months. The outer "Viper" material has been tearing at the seam on both boots. Maybe I received a bad pair, but based on my personal experience, these boots are of a poor quality. I capture rattlesnakes for a living, and I can't trust a pair of boots that open up so easily. It will be interesting to see how long this review will stay up on the website.

I had been looking for a pair of snake boots and when I tries these on there was no question. The price is well worth the quality and comfort. I read several reviews about how long they would take to break in and that was my only real concern. Well they arrived and fit perfectly and Ive only worn them a few times and they are breaking in just fine. Great boot!

The boots were very comfortable right out of the box. Not only snake-proof, but cactus and thorn-proof as well. I am very happy with the performance of these boots.

The toe is rigid but not steel-toed. They come in standard 'D' width, however a custom order is probably possible.I would consider ordering these boots 1/2 size larger than what you normally wear. They are very stiff.
