I have used Charlie Brewer's Slider Heads for years. They are easy to rig up and use. The bend in the shank keeps the worm head from slipping. The built-in weight keeps the worm down on the bottom. I prefer using this set up over using a worm weight pegged to the line. The entire rig is pretty weedless and I throw this rig into some thick cover like hydrilla and peppergrass. I also use braided line when I go into tough cover. If the water is cloudy, I use a fire tail worm and give the rod tip short quick twitches. It is easy to set the hook and the hook will hold your catch.

I have been using these hooks for years. I even used the same head type that were in the lighter wire hook style. But, the wire on these hooks were a great improvement. If you are looking for a snagless hook, this is it! I work it over rocky areas a lot of times without many hangups. They also have a unique action. I have found worms 8" and smaller or smaller creature baits work very well on this hook. Try some out and you'll be hooked!

I've had a couple of slider heads in my tackle box since the 1980's. Just the other day, I just pulled them out of a big pile of hooks in a box. Years ago, I believe there was an expression called "Do-Nothing" fishing. That's when you rigged up a slider head with a worm texas style, cast it out and then let it sit on the bottom until you got a strike. Am I remembering it correctly, was it the slider head that was called that?

No that wasn't the slider. A "do nothing" if I remember correctly was a worm that basically did nothing. The shape was uniform with no head or tail. Just kind of like a cigar shape with rounded ends.

The "letting the bait sit on the bottom" is called dead-sticking. The "Do-Nothing" method is to cast the rig out and slowly reel back with out any added action. No jigging or working the bait of any kind except for very slowly reeling in of the rig.Answers
