Charlie Brewer's Pro Series Spider Slider Heads run true and upright for excellent bait presentation, hook sets and reduced line twist. The Pro Series Spider Slider Heads' unique design also provides excellent holding power, so your soft plastic holds on tighter and lasts longer. Pro Series Spider Sliders are great for Texas style rigging and have sharp 3/0 Mustad® Ultra Point Hooks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Spider Slider Heads My go-to jig head every spring when the water is rising on The Mississippi River. The walleyes move shallow, generally around rip-rap banks, and if you throw in some laydowns and bushes, better yet. I use the lightest heads that will give me a natural down current drift, and rig up either a tube or a 4" ringworm and cast upstream of my target and let the current wash my offering over and into the cover. Whether it's rip-rap, or bushes, or logs, anything that can provide a break in the current and cover for the fish is what you want. Just rig it up Texas style and allow it to drift into and over the junk, and the walleyes will engulf it. Guys think I'm bass fishing, but the walleyes are tucked in there and they are hungry. After they spawn, I'll use the same technique for pre-spawn largemouths and smallmouths. The key is getting the proper down current drift, and these light heads give it to you. My favorite jigheads for shallow, early season walleyes on The Mississippi River. March 19, 2006
Rated 5 out of 5 by Charlie Brewer's Slider Heads-Pro Series spider I have used these slider heads for bass fishing and with light line and have done very well with these. I normally use 4 inch soft bait's , but recently started to use 6 inch baits on these heads and have just as well. I've never had my hook straighten out as of yet knock on wood because have caught quite a few 3 1/2 to 5lb on these heads. You just have to treat these head as you would with light line and thin hooks, I use these on spinning tackle most of the time and like I said I really love these slider heads due to the way you use them(nice&slow). I know a lot of people say you can't bass fish with these slider heads but guess what you can and it's fun. Try'em out for your self. Also use nanfil line it's great.. September 7, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great In the river Used these in the river to catch the years first smallies. Kept snagging up with tubs even when rigged weedless so I put one of these on with a 4" curly tail and never got snagged again. Caught 2 nice smallies out of the hole I had been working. March 21, 2013

It's like both a texas and a jighead rig. So would this count as a shakey head?

Thanks

No It goes through the weeds better and seems more effective catching fish. The best size is1/8 oz with 8# fluorocarbon seagar invisx.

A:
No not a "shakey head" A shakey head is meant to stand the bait up the slider head, well slides along the bottom or on top of the grass/moss.

Shakey heads are a bit different. Typically a Shakey Head the weight of the jig is underneith the plastic. In this sitution the weight of the jig is in front of the plastic.

These were developed as really a small swimbait 30 years ago or so. There are slider bodies that go with them. The thought was you swam the bait back. These can be used on the bottom as well. I wouldn't call them shakey heads though.
