I use these on a split-shot rig and clean up on the bass, especially in heavily pressured waters, ultra clear water, or cold and/or post-frontal conditions. It's so natural and non-threatening, you get lots of strikes. Just tie on your line(I prefer spinning gear w/ 8# line for this technique)a smallish worm hook, like a 1/0, rig it texas-style, then place a split-shot about 12-18 inches up the line. How big a shot depends on the depth, current, etc. Fish it just like you would any other worm, although it's not really the rig for heavy cover; you could do the same thing but use a small bullet sinker for that... My best colors are 17 and 81.

works very great
I have used these for quite a while and they work great. they have the perfect action with there slider heads you buy for them. you just real it in very very slowly, and it has a feeding like action wile the small paddle tale gives a little flickering action. With out the slidehead they dont work very good though. Just give em a try if you wanna catch a lot of bass. grape, black and black with a shartruse tail are the ones I had the moste sucsess with.

Finesse fishing staple
Charlie Brewer is one of the pioneers of finesse fishing and his brainchild the slider worm should be in ever serious fisherman's worm bag. For tough conditions, skipping under docks, river, stream, pond fishin this is your guy. Excellent for smallmouth,Guadalupe, spotted and Kentucky bass there's nothin better. Paired with their 1/8oz. Pro-series slider head 10lb. Flouro.and a good medium spinning rod this thing is deadly. I can catch a bass out of a 5gal. bucket with this thing.
