This was an excellent purchase. The product performs as advertised. I bought this product to use as a side fire box for my big pit and even though my pit is of a different brand than this product, all that it required was a quick bolt pattern layout and a drill. I had it completely & perfectly adapted, fitted, & installed in less than thirty minutes. I now have the smoker pit I've wanted for a while now. And after an extensive online search for this product, Bass Pro Shops was the ONLY site that sold it indvidually. Everyone else sold it as a combo package only.

After I puchaced this I was exacerbated when I read the reviews post purchace...But apparently the company listens to the problems and fixes them!
One guy complained about the "knock out"
well, it was nonexistant! you unbolt a plate, and voila
it bolts right to the other! It appears to be a pretty good stand alone grill to!

I purchased this BBQ as an add on to my Duo 5050 BBQ. I wanted a smoker / side firebox as an option to let me cook meat at more constant temperatures.
It did a very nice job on some ribs and chicken over the weekend and I was able to maintain a very constant temp of 225F for almost the entire time by adding charcoal or wood chips/chunks as needed to the smoker.
It was a bit more difficult to get the knockout out than expected.
The unit sits slightly off level attached to the original 5050, but I plan to shorten the connection spacers slightly to fix that problem.
The fit and finish of this unit was not quite as good as the original BBQ either. The door doesn't close very tightly like the other and the charcoal tray door does not quite fit the hole that is cut out for it and there seems to be a spot weld missing or broken at one of the seams. None of these issues would stop me from buying it again though.
Note that if you are adding this onto your duo 5050, your BBQ cover may not fit after it is attached. I have a huge cover from another store and it just barely covers the whole BBQ.
Overall I am pleased with the look and performance, but there could have been a bit more effort put into this one during manufacturing.
