I got this for a christmas present and couldn't hardly wait to start my new years resolution of no more fried foods!
I put it together in just a few minutes,seasoned it up as per directions,and in with a 15 pound bird!
It was perfectly cooked in 2 hours!
people that is only 8 minutes a pound!
I had some freinds over for football and we all looked at it several times during cooking time trying to figure out how in the world it was going to "FRY" a turkey? well if you have ever had deep fried turkey before this is absolutely just as good!
juicy as all get out and crisp and golden brown!!
with no OIL!! I was as well as my guest were very skeptical.........no more It works PERFECT!!!
I salute char broil and give it two thumbs up.

WE USED THE FRYER FOR CHRISTAMS AND IT WAS SIMPLE TO PUT TOGETHER AND VERY EASY TO COOK IN. THE TURKEY WAS VERY DRY BUT WE MAY HAVE OVER COOKED IT. WE COOKED A 12 POUND TURKEY FOR 15 MINUTES PER POUND AS RECOMMENDED.
THE SKIN WAS COOKED BEAUTIFULLY. WILL TRY AGAIN.

This was given to me and my wife as a wedding gift. We chose the Apple Cider brined turkey recipe from the Charbroil website as our first item to cook. It was absolutely the best turkey I have ever had in my life. This is now a yearly tradiiton at my house for christmas! Even my mother-in-law is jealous of how great I can cook a turkey and without the mess! Clean-up is less than 5 minutes. Would reccommend anyone who has a oil turkey fryer to trade it in for this much safer, and simpler turkey fryer. Great Product.

Picked up the oil-free fryer after reading reviews on this site and other sources. After years of conventional oil fried turkeys I have switched to oil-free. 10 minutes a pound, crispy and juicier. You start cooking as soon as the propane is ignited, not 45-60 minutes later waiting for the oil to heat up and it cools down in 15 minutes. Plus you can do other meats such as tenderlions, roasts, etc. Loooking forward to using this for years.

This gets the entire bird crispy. I have the propane and the burn chamber is seperate from the cooking chamber. I looked at the electrric but decided on the propane for portablilty and the elctric draws 13.5 amps which will pop breakers if there is much else on the same circuit.A:Â
The first time I cooked with mine, my brother in law fried a tuekey in oil, we have well over 10 years of oil frying behind us and my Big easy was picked over the deep fried. It is not healthier because you're not using oil, but safer as well. The meat has better flavor. you simpley just inject your turkey as you would for regular frying and cook. The gas is on or off, the way you can control the heat is by removing or putting the screen cover over the cooking chamberA:Â
I had the same problem. What I did was tied the legs and wings up VERY close to the side of the main part of the bird. This stopped it because they cooked from the outside in on the legs and wings and not all the way around. Worked out great. Basically the same thing you do for a turkey fryer where you use real oil.
