This impressive device automatically notifies you of emergency alerts broadcasted by the National Weather Service (NWS), including hurricane, tornado and thunderstorm warnings and AMBER Alerts. With Specific Area Message Encoding, you receive advisories, watches and warnings for your area only. Emergency, weather and public announcements have color-coded lights to determine emergency type. The Chaney Instruments Weather Radio has seven digitally tuned channels to receive NWS stations 50 to 70 miles away. Requires 3 AA batteries, not included. AC power adapter is provided for back-up.
