I got this knife as a present after a hunting trip 2 years ago. My father had one of these knives as did my grandfather. I think my grandfathers may have just been a folder but same look. Great general knife, I have the gut blade instead of the fillet blade and all work fine. I have skinned several deer with this knife and will use it for seasons to come.

Case XX Exchanger is GREAT
I got my Case XX Exchanger for Fathers day last year. I've used it to clean deer, hogs, and some fish. The blades are easy to exchange. The grinds on them are good. They hold an edge well. They are fairly easy to sharpen. The overall quality is excellent. I absolutely love this combo knife.

Fold the knife to a 90 degree, push in on the release that locks the blade open and wiggle the blade a little back and forth while pushing the lock it will slide straight out the end , it must stay in the 90 degree angle to come out .
This is very easy to do. All you do is open the knife. Then move the blade so it's hanging at a 90 degree angle from the handle. Press the lock release down, and slide the blade off the handle straight forward. When you put another blade on do that in reverse. Hold the handle horizontal, push down the blade release, and slide the new blade onto the handle with it at a 90 degree angle to the handle. The slot on the blade should slide right over the pivot pin in the front of the knife.
