Carson VisorMag Clip-On Hat Magnifier
Very Fragile - Poor Design
I had two sets of these brake on me. I thought perhaps I had mishandled or been rough when my first set broke. A second set broke at the exact same place.
The nose bridge area that connects the two lenses is poorly designed. The plastic here is much thinner than the lenses. Since the unit is curved/convex, very light pressure breaks them here. I will try to attach an image highlighting the weak points in yellow.
The optics seem fine, didn't scratch and cleaned easily.
I purchased another, costlier product and it has worked for two seasons.

you get what you pay for. these are cheap magnifiers that break easily and they became impossible to clean in a very short time. They don't stay positioned on the bill of the hat very well unless you are willing to cut your hat or drill a pin hole through them and the hat. they worked well for a very short period of time. I am now looking for a better product. I would give this a zero star if the website would let me

In wrapping some rod guides on light rods, I needed some eye help. This product worked pretty well. Needed to do adjusting to get the distance between the visor and my glasses right. Glad I bought them.

These work great, better than the more expensive ones. Just the right magnification for tying on lures, flip out of the way. Still allows me to use my regular polarized XPS sunglasses. Sometimes there is a little reflection of light hitting them just after sunrise, but a small price to pay to not have to have prescription sunglasses. They are a bargain.
