Does this RC have separate channels that it can be set too, if you have 2 kids with the same truck will they be able to control each one on their own or will they compete with each other.

Yes, two trucks can be used at the same time. Frequency-independent due to 2.4 GHz technology.

FYI- The 2.4 GHz technology also guarantees uninterrupted frequency-independent driving for up to 16 cars at the same time.
