The 14% glass-filled nylon ferrule is strong and tighter than ever. Push button take down. Asymmetrical, slightly spooned blade design for great performance. Exceptionally lightweight and flexible fiberglass shaft for smooth and powerful paddling. Made in USA.

This paddle has a failry stiff blade which produces a powerful stroke. Coupled with the spooned blade it scoops a lot of water per stroke. This style of blade helps you fight current and wind, but being as broad as it is it can be tiresome for some over long distances. I used to use the aluminum Day Tripper paddle but find this paddle much lighter and better suited for powerful swift strokes.
The only real complaint I have about this paddle is that "button" that holds the two pieces together does not fit very snug in the receptacle hole. Therefore the two sections wiggle, which some people may not mind but after using a friend's Werner brand premium paddle it drives me nuts. I much prefer having something that feels solid in my hands but I was told this is a common flaw among paddles in this price range.
My suggestion is buy it if you don't mind a little movement during your strokes or find a way to permanently bond the two sections so they don't have any wiggle or slip. Go with the cheaper Day Tripper if you don't want to spend the money for a lighter, more rigid paddle. Unfortunately kayak paddles are ridiculously priced and a premium, light, stiff, and snug fitting paddle is well over $100 dollars.
